Rick Perry says his foreign aid budget starts at zero

Texas Gov. Rick Perry said he would cut U.S. foreign aid budget to zero, and then assigned depending on each country's support for the United States, said that Pakistan will no longer accept U.S. aid, but Israel will taxpayer money. "As a country that does not aid in our time do not support U.S. national," Perry said.

His idea received support from former House Speaker Newt Gingrich but, in the case of Pakistan, was opposed by Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum at the CBS News/National Journal debate in Spartanburg, S.C.
Perry, his views on Pakistan's discussion. Covert operations by the U.S. Marines were killed Osama bin Laden, has been hidden for many years in the country, the United States and the country's relationship has become strained.

In explaining his agreement with Perry, Gingrich seems to indicate that there is no thought, decided how much each country received assistance.

"Gingrich said," to consider an alternative. "You give a number of countries began a $ 7 billion a year - or in the case of Egypt, an annual 30 billion - you said you started here a year, 30 billion dollars, now I began to think about you? Should start in Zero said, explain to me why I should give you a penny. "

Bachmann, member of the House Intelligence Committee, described as a national security issue for Pakistan's foreign aid.

"I will reduce the many, many countries, foreign aid, but there is a problem, because Pakistan has nuclear weapons," Bachmann said. "We have more people under the" base "organization than any other country in the nuclear bomb."

Santo Roma, Pakistan "must be a friend of the United States" for the same reason.

Roma Santos said: "Pakistan is a nuclear power, and in the country, if they get control of the country, will create an equal, penetration of the situation in Iran now,." "Therefore, we can not whether Pakistan is our friend indecisive, they must be our friends, we have as a friend, they do."

Foreign aid budget is a political candidate, but only a small proportion of the entire federal budget familiar punching bag. Earlier this year, PolitiFact.com reported that in fiscal year 2008 and 2009 the total amount of U.S. foreign aid spending to $ 4.91 billion U.S. dollars and 44.9 billion U.S. dollars, or slightly more than 1% of the annual U.S. budget.

For the 2012 fiscal year, beginning October 1, President Obama requested $ 50.8 billion of foreign aid.

Audience in a question submitted via Twitter, Israel will receive the amount of assistance, Perry said his country supported assistance. He also believes that a case of federal departments to expand the budget approach, the debate earlier this week, he could only name he wants to defund the three departments two decision-making.

"Perry said," Obviously, Israel is a special ally, I bet we will support them in some substantial level. "But it all makes sense to zero, so that your case, in fact, we should try to do something with these agencies, I tried to think of the name."
