Corrupt Leader of PTI

housing scheme corruption
For allegedly spending public funds on personal housing scheme, the Anti Corruption Establishment has issued a notice to the former revenue minister and incumbent PTI leader in Sadiqabad to appear before the investigating team on 8th.
A citizen had filed a complaint with the department, pleading that former Punjab revenue minister Chaudhry Shaukat Dawood spent hundreds of thousands of rupees on his personal housing scheme during his tenure. Following the allegations, the department had registered a case against the former minister. Rana Izharul Haq, a resident of Jinah Park in tehsil Sadiqabad, was of the view that the former people’s representative misused his authority and spent a huge amount on the housing project.
Earlier, the complainant had told media that the ex-Punjab minister had started hurling threats at him for getting the case registered against him and to withdraw the case. However, Rana Izharul refused to withdraw the case, linking the case withdrawal to returning of the millions of rupees to the government exchequer.
Talking to the media, the appellant said, “The supporters of former provincial minister for revenue Shaukat Dawood including Muhammad Shafiq are hurling threats at him via phone and forcing him to withdraw the case.” He was of the view that the financial corruption is a robbery of public money and an abuse of power. He also pledged that he would not tolerate such nefarious acts, pressing the accused to walk on right path and return the plundered money to the government.
According to case details, the Anti Corruption Establishment registered eight different cases against the former minister, former Sadiqabad tehsil naib nazim Akmal Warrind, Executive Engineer Maqsood Anjum, tehsil officers Asghar Ali Bajwa, Nadeem Abbas, Ayaaz Anjum and another former tehsil nazim Dr Taloot Saleem Bajwa for allegedly spending development funds on their own property.
According to the FIR 63/11 dated 2-11 2011, Rana Izharul had submitted an application three years ago to the ACE Bahawalpur director against them, saying that a Kachi Abadi or slum area was approved in Sadiqabad during the regime of former PM Muhammad Khan Junejo. These people changed the lists of slum areas and got registered the land of these areas in their names.
Similarly, in the new fruit market in Abid Town, there is no Kachi Abadi, but they showed it a Kachi Abadi and got commercial plots worth millions of rupees allotted to their relatives’ names and each shop was sold for Rs4 to 5 million. There was also a 4-kanal plot allotted for a school in Abid Town but these persons showed it as Kachi Abadi and registered it in the names of their relatives including Azam Warriach. Azam Warriach sold this plot for millions of rupees to the former naib nazim. There are many other allegations of corruption against them.
