SHAHDADPUR: Polling for the by-elections in PS-83 Shahdadpur constituency of Sanghar is underway on Tuesday, Geo News reported.According to Election Commission, 109,551 people are eligible to cast their votes while 93 polling stations have been set up in the district, out of which 25 polling stations were declared to be sensitive. More than 2,000 policemen have been deployed in the district for security reasons.It is pertinent to mention that the seat fell vacant on April 22 after the demise of the MPA Abdul Salam Thaeem who was elected thrice from Shahdadpur constituency.The son of late MPA, Shahid Khan Thaeem is contesting the elections on Pakistan Peoples Party s (PPP) ticket. His two competitors are Rafique Jakhro of Awami Tehreek and Tehseen Zaban, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporter, who is contesting as an independent candidate.
