'Kill team' leader Calvin Gibbs guilty of murder

A U.S. military court convicted leading Afghanistan rogue "kill team" premeditated murder three American soldiers. Sergeant Calvin Gibbs, 26, admitted cutting and keeping the body as a trophy of the fingers, but said he returned the enemy's fire, and did not kill.

Murder of three men to 15 convictions related to his life, but may be released on parole in nine years.

Three defendants pleaded guilty of the same below the case, and two of his testimony.

Gibbs, from Billings, Montana, is the highest level of the soldiers charged with murder. Prosecutors told the jury, Gibbs and other soldiers down the body, so that they appear to be fighting weapon.

Gibbs's lawyer argued that the three accused pleaded guilty to conspiracy for his own behavior. Five jury deliberation for four hours before announcing the verdict, pronounced him guilty of all 15 charges against him.

He faces life in prison. Initial investigation of a broader inquiry as to the fifth Stryker Brigade, Gibbs and Afghanistan deployed units.

Row "out of control," prosecutors said, including smoking hash, shooting and beating of a soldier in Afghanistan is still reporting the use of drugs.

According to Morlock, Gibbs joined row in 2010, he began to describe the killing of civilians, saying it would be easy to get out.

Morlock testified, Gibbs used against the victims of his two grenades, an AK - 47 placed close to another victim, to make it appear that he had armed.
