afghanistan capital kabul blast
A blast has rocked a shrine packed with pilgrims in the Afghan capital, Kabul. At least 20 people have been killed, and the toll from the suspected suicide bombing is expected to rise, a senior police told Reuters news agency. Another blast is reported to have taken place near a mosque in Mazar-i-Sharif in the north of the country, with reports of four dead.

Shia Muslims are commemorating the day of Ashura, a national holiday in Afghanistan. It is the climax of Muharram - the month of mourning for the martyrdom of the Prophet Muhammad(P.B.U.H)'s grandson Hazrat Imam Hussain(R.A).
