AIOU achieves record growth in enrolment from Baluchistan


The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has achieved a record number of growth in students’ enrollment from Baluchistan, reaching to double figure in the current semester.

This extraordinary students’ enrollment growth from backward and far-flung areas of Baluchistan was achieved by the University for the first time since its inception 38 years back. 

It was due to up-gradation in quality education and its equal accessibility throughout the country as well as better strategic planning, adopted during the last two years.

The growth was also the result of the Allama Iqbal Open University’s vision, ensuring education for all. 

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi took a number of steps in the recent years, taking the education to the door-steps of the people. 

New campus and study centres were being opened to facilitate the students as well as fully utilizing the state-of-the-art e-learning technology.

According to the region-wise comparison, the enrollment of students from Kalat was 526, from Turbat 796, Dera Murad Jumali was 1700 and from Quetta was 3391 in spring-smester 2011 while in the current semester Spring 2012, the enrollment from Kalat was noted 1182, Turbat was 1451, from Dera Murad Jumali was 3073.
