Massachusetts and New Hampshire Republicans are divided about how their party’s top candidate, Mitt Romney, is handling the presidential race against President Barack Obama thus far, according to interviews with politicians in both states.
“I know he’s saying the right things, but he’s not getting the message out clear enough,” said Bill Hudak, a Republican from Boxford who ran for the Sixth District Congressional seat vs. John Tierney in 2010.
Hudak said the former governor of Massachusetts hasn’t done a good job of articulating how, exactly, he would improve the economy and create more jobs.
A July 5 editorial by the conservative Wall Street Journal editorial board agreed with Hudak while lambasting Romney for his handling of two major Supreme Court rulings last month on immigration and President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.
